The Need
Space Factory needed a digital platform to support its transition from traditional project-based workflows toward a scalable, system-driven approach to modular housing. The goal was not simply visualisation, but a practical design environment where layouts can be configured rapidly, standardised components stay controlled and manufacturable, and non-technical users can explore options independently — with design logic that aligns directly with factory production.
Our Solution
Creatomus developed a customised version of Modular Designer for Space Factory, tailored to Korean timber modular construction workflows and production logic. The system was demonstrated publicly together with Space Factory at Korea Build 2025, where the first implementation of the configurator was showcased.
Parametric modular configuration with dynamic room and floorplan generation
Flexible placement of openings, stairs, and standard room elements
Built-in modular system constraints that keep every design manufacturable
AI-supported visualisation and production integration via ArchiCAD and ArchiFrame
The collaboration also validated that the Creatomus platform can adapt to highly industrialised manufacturing environments outside Europe, including factories operating with Weinmann-style timber production logic.
The Result
The Space Factory collaboration became an important milestone for the international development of the Creatomus platform.
Successful localisation of the system for the Korean market
Direct compatibility between digital configuration and industrial production logic
Faster design exploration without losing system control
A scalable foundation for future BIM and production integrations
One of the clearest takeaways from Korea: industrialised construction succeeds when architecture, manufacturing, and digital systems are developed in parallel — not sequentially.
The collaboration demonstrated how configurator technology can support real industrial modular production workflows — not only visualisation.
