Modular houses configured to order
It is now official: NU living has turned the futuristic concept of combining modular off-site construction and custom build into reality. The unprecedented large experiment has been going on for over 3 years by now and with over half of 251 plots already configured and sold, it can finally be declared a success. For background info, the Beechwood development is a part of Swan’s £100m regeneration of the former 1960’s Craylands Estate delivered in partnership with Basildon Borough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.

All houses designed for Beechwood are ordered from the NU build purpose built factory in Basildon. All houses are built using Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and delivered as high-quality new homes. As a vertically integrated developer, NU living has capitalised on the opportunity of connecting the entire delivery chain via digital means providing homebuyers with the next generation digital experience.
Homebuyers can easily pick an available plot and customise their future home to suit their needs and their budget. The online configurator tool lets them explore all possible design choices before making their final decision either from the comfort of their home or in the sales suite located on-site.
Nu living sales people are given means to manage plot availability, easily record customer choices and send all orders submitted online for digital signing. Once both sides have signed, the order is forwarded digitally to the factory for processing and construction.
